Certified Feng Shui Consultant Carole Provenzale, former International Feng Shui Guild Chapter Director, Long Island, New York

Update!  See the project follow-up!

The Jones Manor is a senior residence home located in Bayville, Long Island, New York.  They are a non profit organization that are reliant on donations and volunteers to help them maintain a true “home” in every sense of the word for the 46 residents who reside there.  Under the direction of Barbara Edwards, Executive Director, together with her wonderful Staff who are composed primarily of volunteers and minimum wage workers, they are dedicated to helping each and every resident enjoy their remaining years.  Short staffing and lack of volunteers make accomplishing what they want to create very difficult.

We were faced with so many areas that were in need of work.  The deck became my sons’ focus as he saw all the residents sitting inside when they could have been outside enjoying the beauty of the days and the lovely scenery.  It had fallen into total disrepair and was unsafe to allow them outside.  Another “room” we saw was a hallway dubbed the “library” where the residents spent a great deal of time.  It was in need of painting, restoring as well as moving the space to a much brighter area of the home, which faces large windows and the outside.  The smoking room also needed to be refreshed with some fresh color.  We also felt the Conference Room had a significant role in its necessity to be redone as that is where all the financial decisions are made.  We decided to paint that as well as employ Feng Shui Principles throughout the entire space and provide Blessings to help all the occupants and bring in more helpful people to this wonderful cause.

We spent days and endless hours assembling volunteers, donations, and also the Press to get the word out on this wonderful place and the help it needs.  And Ladies, we did it!  In three short months we created a beautiful, safe environment for this wonderful staff and extremely grateful residents.

Acknowledgements:

First and foremost to my children, Adam and Laura Schumacher.  Adam, who accompanied me on my initial visit to The Jones Manor and convinced me that not  only COULD this project be done, but it SHOULD be and we should be the ones to do it.  He was our master craftsman and the beautiful, restored deck was created by him.  The residents would not again be enjoying the outside if it weren’t for him.

And to Laura, who has been studying this beautiful art with me for the last four years and is currently practicing in New Paltz.  Due to our amazing experiences and follow ups with clients, she never doubts the power of Feng Shui.

My gratefulness goes to the consultants of the Guild for your help, support and lovely Feng Shui Cures. And to a special Ordained Interfaith Minister, Irene Windhors, who came to Bless both the Staff and Residents.

Thank you to Robert Bankston of The Fine Arts, LLC, Professional Painter for his time, knowledge and expertise to help us accomplish our goals.  He is a true Professional.

My deepest gratitude always to my former Webmaster, Jay Giambona, for the enormous patience in making all the changes on this site and his beautiful designs.  You would not be viewing these pages if it weren’t for his dedication to his clients.
